Custom Attributes

Attributes in CoreCounts are any characteristics that are a part of a unique member profile. Examples of standard attributes in CoreCounts include email, department, and member role. Within the tool, attributes can influence the way data is grouped in reports. Out of the box, we can view reports broken down by departments, teams, member levels or by the individual (if the data is identifiable…if it’s anonymous, there’s not a chance anyone will see the data individually).

By utilizing Custom Attributes in CoreCounts, you can capture any details you’d like about team members. The sky is truly the limit on the information you can save: dates of birth to remember to celebrate your team member on their special day, personality profile information, what location they’re based out of, their favorite beverage or snack, literally anything!  You can choose if you want to make the data required or included in your heatmap.

To add Custom Attributes:

  1. Navigate to your Company Profile
  2. Select the Members tab
  3. Click the Manage Custom Member fields header

  4. Click the Add Custom Field button

  5. Name your custom field, set the type (text or date) and whether it’s required or should be included in reporting.

  6. Save

  7. Head back to the Members tab and select the employee who’s profile you want to update

  8.  Add the information to the new custom attribute field

Adding Data in Bulk:

If you just had the thought, “Man, this would have been great when I added all the employees in the company! This is going to be a lot of work to add!” Don’t worry! While you can add information on a one-off basis for individual employees, we made it easy for you to do a bulk import with custom attributes via the Member Import Spreadsheet!

To add the Custom Attribute data in bulk:

  1. Add the Custom Attribute via the steps above
  2. Navigate to the Members tab
  3. Click the Export Members button and open the spreadsheet after it downloads
  4. Your new Custom Attribute will be the last field on your user export, add all the data and save your file
  5. Head back to the Members tab in CoreCounts and click on the Add Members button
  6. Click Upload Member Spreadsheet
  7. Click in the Member Import field, find, and select your updated spreadsheet
  8. Click upload
  9. Voila! The data is now added to your member profiles!
