Managing Culture Tracking

Culture Tracking is the method CoreCounts uses to measure the culture of your organization. It’s an incredible way to get a clear picture of what’s going on in your organization, both your opportunities and strengths, so you can take intentional action to grow the areas you wish to improve and sustain the things you’re already doing well.

To set up Culture Tracking head to Features and Manage Features to enable Culture Tracking.

To make changes to Culture Tracking:

  • Head directly to Features and Culture Tracking
  • Select Admin Settings to Manage & Define Questions, set your Frequency & Schedule, as well as your High & Low Categories.

To Manage & Define Questions click on the edit button.

Click on each category to expand and view the questions. You can toggle on or off entire categories or individual questions to ensure you’re asking your team questions that are relevant to your organization. You can also add new questions to existing categories by clicking on the New Question button at the bottom of each category, with the exception of eNPS which is its own uniquely designed question/category.

All Culture Tracking questions are asked as opinion scale questions with 0 = strongly disagree and 10 = strongly agree, so it’s important your custom questions are written the same. If you inadvertently ask a question in the opposite way, the answers to that question may drive down the overall results of your Culture Tracking Surveys and generally make it more difficult to interpret data. Tip: despite the fact we’ve used the word question a few times in this description, opinion scale questions work best when they’re written as a statement and not a question. After you’ve written your question as a statement, you’ll select the category for it to live in and name a question sub-category. The question sub-category should be one or two words that will be used to categorize the responses in your Culture Heatmap. Once you’re done, click Add Question and make sure the question is toggled to ensure it’s asked in your Culture Tracking Surveys.

If you want to add your own Custom Category to your Culture Tracking Survey, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Add Category button. Add a Category Name and an optional description if you desire. The Category Name will be used to categorize data collected in your Culture Heatmap. Once you’ve added your Custom Category, follow the steps above to add your own unique questions.

From the Manage Culture Tracking screen, click on the edit button set your Culture Tracking Schedule.

Here you’ll set:

  • A date for your first Culture Tracking Survey
  • The Tracking Frequency, either weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually.
  • The number of questions you’d like each member to receive per Culture Tracking Survey. The number of questions you can send will be determined by your survey frequency in order to reduce survey fatigue.
  • Whether you’ll collect a Culture Benchmark during your first Culture Tracking survey. We highly recommend you do this.
  • Your Anonymity Minimum, this setting is used to keep your anonymous data anonymous.
  • You can also access your Culture Tracking questions here.

To set your High & Low Categories, click on the edit button and select the initiatives you want to focus on for the year. We recommend setting this after you get the results from your Culture Benchmark.
